Update: Some people may have had problems opening the previous transmission so we have updated the PDF file.

Six-term Congressman Jim McGovern, whose Third District stretches from northwest of Worcester to Fall River, will be the featured speaker May 5 when the Cape and Islands Democratic Council holds its annual Jefferson-Jackson Dinner at the Radisson Hotel in Hyannis.

The festivities, which regularly attract all of the region's top Democratic political figures, will include the always popular Silent Auction conducted by Bob Isadore and David Velasco. It’s cocktails at 6 with dinner to follow at 7.

Major awards will be presented to Kathy Ohman, outgoing CIDC president, as Democrat of the Year, and to Dr. Arthur F. Bickford, one of the founders of the Duffy-O’Neill Clinics in Hyannis, for Community Service.
