Patrick Starts Out By Reaching Out, Comes to Cape With Murray For Inaugural Celebration On Sunday
A goodly number of local Democrats were expected to be in Boston Thursday to celebrate the inauguration of Deval Patrick as Massachusetts governor. But for those unable to make it, never fear, he’s coming here for one of a series of regional events the afternoon of this Sunday, the seventh.
It’s all part of what has been an aggressive campaign by the new governor to bring Beacon Hill to the people.
Faced with pressure to hit the ground running because of deadlines to prepare a budget, Governor Patrick last month dispatched Transition Teams throughout the state to hold hearings on a variety of subjects so he could get the pulse of the people.
